MALLORCA TODAY - Weather Alcúdia and Pollensa 2 February 2013

No Frills Excursions

Morning high (9.00am): 13C
Forecast high: 14C
Sea conditions (northern Mallorca; Alcúdia and Pollensa bays): Southwest 6 veering rapidly to Northwest 6 to 7 and at times gale force 8.

Very mild overnight, the wind has now kicked in, strong gusts in parts, and the northerlies will continue through the weekend bringing the risk of a touch of rain and snow to as low as 300 metres tomorrow. An amber alert for coastal conditions, meaning particular care should be paid to coastal roads and paths as waves could be treacherous. An unsettled pattern will see warmer but still windy weather at the start of the week with a return to northerlies and colder weather later in the week.

Afternoon update (17.00): Rather more rain this morning than had been anticipated, and highs lower than the mornings, 12C at best. Winds not, at present, as strong as forecast.
