MALLORCA TODAY - Government approves language requirement bill

The Balearic Government's controversial law that will remove Catalan as a pre-requisite for employment in the public sector has been approved today. Employment will be on merit, but the government has stated that those without required levels of Catalan should look to achieve understanding and will be aided by governmental collaboration. There are, though, to be some specific requirements for Catalan, depending on the particular work.
