MALLORCA TODAY - Weather Alcúdia and Pollensa 7 June 2011

A dull start to the day, some thin blue sky around, but it's mostly cloudy, with a local high of 18.9 in Puerto Pollensa by 08.00. The forecast does suggest the slight possibility of rain this afternoon and a higher risk tomorrow morning, but the forecast is still showing a significant improvement on Thursday.

11.00 update: The met office is hedging its bets. Storms and heavy rain are now being spoken about, with a yellow alert out for strong coastal winds. However, it is also saying that the winds will blow away and become light. There is no yellow alert for tomorrow.

And the met office's worst bet turned out to be right. Fairly heavy storm in the late afternoon, still rumbling around (at 20.00), combined with a strong shower or two. With a bit of luck, this is the end, but there could still be some dodgy stuff about tomorrow. Top temperature today has been 24.9 (Alcúdia/Playa de Muro).
