MALLORCA TODAY - Lliga Regionalista making headway

The Lliga Regionalista de les Illes Balears, the party formed by the ex-Partido Popular member Jaume Font, has been making considerable progress in attracting local politicians to its ranks. One notable name to have crossed over from the defunct Unió Mallorquina (now CxI) is Malena Estrany, a Pollensa politician and the Lliga's candidate for the post of mayor in the town. Another name to have joined the Lliga is the son of the mayor of Artà, Toni Gili, who has also crossed over from the UM. Font has been meeting with a leading figure in the PP in Calvià, Bartolome Bonafé, regarding his possible defection.
